History of the Bradford Ecumenical Home

Dresser Home During FireBradford Ecumenical Home was built in 1989 to fulfill our community’s need to provide a home for seniors. A devastating fire at Dresser Memorial Presbyterian Home in 1986, forced residents to seek shelter in other nursing homes. Hannum Memorial Rest Home accommodated many of those residents.

Dresser Home After FireThe Bradford community had a great need for another nursing home. Led by two area churches, First Baptist and First Presbyterian, the idea of a new facility to reunite former Dresser Home “friends” and to fill a void in the community the planning and fundraising for Bradford Ecumenical Home Incorporated began.

Hannum HomeOn opening day August 5, 1989, 35 residents from Hannum Memorial moved to Bradford Ecumenical Home. A week later nine other residents moved in. Today, Bradford Ecumenical Home is “home” to 100 residents.
