Volunteer Opportunities

More than 100 people volunteer at Bradford Ecumenical Home, Inc. Volunteers are a vital part of our team and perform a number of functions to assist our residents and professional staff. A volunteer may deliver mail, offer selections from the Gift Cart, participate in scheduled activities, read a book, shop for personal needs, entertain by playing a violin, bring a pet in for a visit, or offer comfort by simply sitting and holding a hand.

All volunteers are required to adhere to the same standards of professionalism and confidentiality as our employees.
If you, a family member, or a friend would like to volunteer, please contact our Director of Staff and Facility Development, Linda Howard.

About the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Inc. Auxiliary

The Bradford Ecumenical Home and Chapel Ridge Auxiliary enriches the lives of our residents in so many ways. Various fundraisers throughout the years have helped to provide medical equipment, leisure materials and furnishings for our residents. Auxiliary members’ companionship, kind words and helping hands contribute to the loving care we strive to offer our seniors each and every day.

In addition to the social meetings and fundraising events, each year the Auxiliary sponsors an annual bus tour for residents to see the bright, beautiful Autumn Trees that are full of color in the hills of Bradford, Pennsylvania. The Auxiliary is extremely generous when it comes to the Holiday Seasons. Their efforts in fundraising help to provide a gift for each resident to open on Christmas morning.

Auxiliary meets the third Wednesday of the month from September to May at 1:30 p.m. at Bradford Ecumenical Home. You are invited to join us and enjoy the many blessing of helping our residents.

Board of Directors

Bradford Ecumenical Home, Inc. volunteer Board of Directors formed in 1987 and completed construction of our 100 bed Skilled Nursing Home, Bradford Ecumenical Home, in 1989. We are a nonprofit corporation that developed based on the former Dresser Home and Hannum Memorial Rest Home’s Board of Directors. In 1996 we had the foresight and initiative to build and open our 56 apartment Personal Care Community, Chapel Ridge. In continuing our mission of providing quality services to seniors, we opened “Our House”, our Alzheimer’s Unit in October 2005.
